A real time ‘in house’ PCR. The assay employs an international standard that allows both a quantitative (viral load) as well as a qualitative result to be reported as part of the one report. The assay can therefore be used diagnostically to confirm viral replication as well as in the management of antiviral treatment of chronic Hepatitis B infection.
